Ready to Pop Baby Shower

A Ready to Pop baby shower is perfect for almost any mommy to be.  ”Ready to Pop” is a nice, neutral theme that will work if the new baby is a boy, a girl, or even if the gender is unknown.  The theme is not super specific, so you won’t have to worry about whether or not the guest of honor likes giraffes or owls like you would with many other themes.  You can choose whatever colors you want for the shower, but our recommendation is to use a printable baby shower package and coordinate the shower’s colors and decorations with your printed items. We love printables for every baby shower, but we especially suggest looking into them for the Ready to Pop themed shower because there aren’t a lot of themed items available for you to buy.  A lot of the things we recommend for a Ready to Pop baby shower only hint towards the theme, especially with the decorations and food.  You can see what we recommend for decorations, favors, food, and invitations below.

Ready to Pop Baby Shower Games

If you’re wanting to have the shower guests play some games, you can make some of the games fit the Ready to Pop theme.  Will balloon games be cheesy?  Yes.  But your guests will definitely remember the “ready to pop” theme and have some fun.

  • Balloon Pop Relay – Fill two garbage bags with an equal number of blown-up balloons.  Have the shower guests separate into two teams and line up an equal distance away from the bag of balloons.  The guests will race to see which team can pop all the balloons first, one person from each team going at a time.  You can give the winning team a small prize.
  • When Will She Pop? - You can have the shower guests take guesses at when the mommy-to-be will “pop.”  Print out a blank calendar for the month the mom is due and the month before and after.  Let the guests sign their name on the day that they think baby will arrive.  Once the babe is born, send a small gift card or prize to the winner.
  • Balloon Pick Up – Put lots of blown-up balloons on the floor and have the guests, one at a time, try to pick up and hold as many as possible in a certain time limit (like 1 minute).  Whoever is able to hold the most balloons is the winner.
  • Guess the Belly Size – Having the guests guess the size of the mommy-to-be’s belly is a fun and classic baby shower game.  It fits perfectly with the “ready to pop” theme since it refers to the mommy’s belly size.
